-Trunks/Goten nearly overwhelmed Vegeta/Gohan during their brief sparring sessions.
-As Mighty Mask, they left #18 awestruck at the power of one of their suppressed blasts.
-SSJ Trunks' cheap-shot-kick did a whole lot more to Fat Buu than SSJ Gohan's did.
Again, I tend to think of them in a in a greater light than most, so I'd probably have them around the level of Semi-Perfect Cell, on average... Maybe a little below that. So IF this isn't Buu-era Piccolo(I assumed it was, for whatever reason), then the kids win, imo.

Since I imagine that Piccolo became stronger between the Cell and Buu sagas, he and the kids *might* be around the same level--though I'd give each kid the nod in the power dept. However, Piccolo is far and away the superior fighter, and that would even out the odds substantially.
I still believe the kids win, though, simply by virtue of this being a 2 vs. 1 scenario.
After they merged, Piccolo became a good bit stronger than ssj Vegeta. After that he went into the to of spirit time and had another substantial increase, just not enough to do anything against Cell.
I know the kid trained in the room too, even if it was more centered to powering up Gotenks, they mustve gotten a lot stronger too...I think itd be fair to say Piccolo edges them out .
I think the kids were a good bit stronger than Piccolo, tbh. Aside from the feats I mentioned earlier(which I don't think Piccolo could duplicate), his shocked expression + nervous-sweat when he sensed their full power is indicative of such, imo:
The only thing that might make this a decent battle is Piccolo's skill-edge. He's outclassed otherwise.

I attributed the amazed expression to the fact that they were so strong as kids myself. Gohan and Vegeta had similar ones when they found about Goten and Trunks being able to become super saiyans.
If their power would have been below his own, he wouldn't have been been nearly as awestruck by them, imo. Look at Goku in the same scene, for example--he didn't seem very impressed at all. He even said "Is that it..?", lol.

Yeah, that's what I was saying pretty much. Their power surprised both Gohan and Vegeta too.
Thats true. Without a doubt, they were on a comparable level, it's just hard to gauge by reactions. Because of their age and the general shock their power produced for most, it's hard to take it like that for me. /shrug
Goku being the strongest character in the series at the time of that would probably be why too though.
