Like I said, T1000 can kill quite a lot of X-men as long as he stays away from the psychics, and I guess Wolverine's nose as well. As OP stated, T1000 alreadt has basic knowledge of individuals so he should know which ones to avoid.
Of course there are other things he can do for the psychics, like becoming a puddle on the floor or aomething
