Heroes Alliance

So this is some cool stuff. I just read an article about this organization, specifically about the guy who created and heads the chapter of it in my city.
Some excerpts from their "About" page:
Our non-profit team of costumed volunteers are ready to make appearances at community and children-oriented charity events–from helping local law enforcement with community functions to visiting sick children in the hospital to help brighten their spirits. Some of the groups we have worked with in the past are Give Kids the World, Base Camp, All Children’s Hospital, FOCUS among many others.
Whatever it may be, the Heroes Alliance is here to help with a unique role among charity groups in bringing a “real life” superhero experience to children and families.
...
They don't charge for appearances, and it seems like a really nice charitable outlet for comic fandom.
I don't really know what discussion there is on this topic. Just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention. Has anyone ever seen this organization in action? Or done something similar themselves?
