I see. So would it be silly to ask why they don't just check the status of the balls immediately before starting the game?
But from what I've read it's just a quick check by the refs. They don't record any of the numbers and they apparently don't have enough time to recheck all of them at half time.
People tend to forget that I think one or two of the Colts balls were technically underdeflated as well.
EDIT: Sorry I need to append something. The refs only tested 4 of the colts balls. I can not remember if any of them were deflated.
