Maher is spot on in the regard, the kid did not invent anything. He took a digital clock apart and put in in a suitcase.
Here is an expert on homemade clocks and says its laughable. This is not an invention

he didn't invent it... so what? he's a ****ing kid, lol. and it still doesn't look like it could be a bomb to anyone with the slightest amount of engineering knowledge. there is no reason to get the police involved... the teacher confiscating the item would have sufficed.

BOOOOOOOOOOOMBill Mayer destroys this fake inventor/kid.
Welcome to last week when it was posted that the kid didn't actually invent anything but just took apart and repackaged a digital clock.
This is just classic misdirection. As it's been with all other cases of minority youths mistreated by people in authority, the character of the victim is irrelevant to whether or not the authorities acted unjustly. It's not who they are, it's what they were doing when the law came down on them. That's just how our justice system works. Or how it should work anyway.
Ahmed Mohamed could be a pathological liar and attention whore--there still weren't sufficient grounds to have him arrested, and if the school/police really thought he had a bomb then they handled the situation horribly and at the very least should undergo further training in how to deal with actual bomb threats.
