Gaalan was a rather good duelist, and probably the strongest tribe member we know- despite being outranked by some.
Gaalan, despite being high rank and in command did not show all that much power. Some force knowledge- force nets and such- and given how he reacted to high-level stuff and once he was transformed, I don't think a pushover, but I don't think a match for either of the foes.
So, team 2 on grounds of them being better in the force and Gaalan being a weak link.
Sarasu is a little hard to quantify, I don't recall him having any skill showings other than when he drank from the font. Gaalan seemed to be legitimately holding his own against Luke, which is nuts but Luke remarked about his skill. I'm not sure who wins only that Gaalan can probably stalemate Galen in sabers, but would get vaporized in the force.
Probably team 2

Taalon ranked higher than Gaalan and he was Luke's opposite number in the expedition force, so it's probable that he's above Gaalan. I need to reread the novels for his feats though. I only remember him shooting Lightning against Abeloth, lol.
He didn't seem to actually do that much in combat- being a commander and throwing some force powers was the extent of it.
Gaalan, while only a Lord rather than a High Lord, was the Tribe member that most impressed/challenged Luke at any point.

I'm pretty sure Taalon also impressed Luke. And he was contending against Luke and Abeloth at once with the aid of a few Sith Sabers, which isn't bad.
Also, did Taalon gain power immediately after falling into the Pool or was it over time? I remember him Pushing Luke at the site, but I can't remember if it was before or after.

Sure, with aid, but Gaalan got compared to Kyp or Kyle in sabers.
The Tribe did put value on family connections and such, so Gaalan may have been so low due to simple lack of connections.

I think he liked gained some power immediately, but it continued to increase with time.
Still, even transformed, what's his best feat? He captured Ben in a force net, but what else?

1. Even if Gaalan was more skilled, Taalon is more powerful, clearly.
2. That's just speculation.
3. Could be.
4. He also ragdolled Luke, IIRC, and moved faster than an injured Luke could react.

Had he completed his transformation, I think he would've likely been above any Sith or Jedi tbh.
