Who likes fanfcition?

I have never had enough ambition to write a full length novel only a series of shorter stories.

When I read the novels a story idea occured to me. It's how I end up doing most writing. There was an area I think was good to explore that I did not think was going to be.

Impressive. So what became of this fan novel?

Errr, I did some 120000 words before I decided I had made a couple of creative mistakes at some points that needed complicated rectifying. As it is only a fan piece and won;t ever get me anywhere it wasn't worth making a huge effort to do all that and I moved onto other things. Still, always nice to have something to come back to later.

Sounds cool. I tried writing my own science fiction serials when I was in high school and a bit after but always had creative blocks that kept me from finishing them.

Well, my main project has always been a fantasy job that I have started at least 15 times, once got as far as about 150000 words. It was a gift for my girlfriend. I MUST get back to it again, actually, and get a start I am happy with.

Other than the HP stuff through I am not a huge fan fiction writer.

GS and Yerssot will know about my stupendous job on the Star Wars fanfics I've been writing. I try to keep away from using already established characters, as it kinda limits your story (or so it seems to me). My characters that I create are better than if I tried to use an established character.

Hey, Ush, can we have a fanfic part to the forum? It would be great, and I could get some hints on what to add before I publish on fanfic.net. As this IS a movie database, we could stick to movie fanfic alone.

The very old RPing forum, in the days before I got here (long ago lost in time) was not unlike a fanfic area.

I shall bring it to the Council and see what they think. Would interested people state their interest here, please?
