In Sacrifice he was handicapped because he saw DD and not diana, but he was mad with grief over Lois death and didn't fight to the best of his abilities, he was just leashing out, trying to make DD suffer. In OWAW he was focused, calm and out to finish his enemy as fast and efficient as possible.
