How powerful will Supreme Leader Snoke be in canon?

Who said anything about random though?

Neither Vader nor Snoke are randoms to him. But I would see no reason for him o worship Vader over Snoke if Snoke was clearly more powerful.

Remember "you're afraid you'll never be as Powerful as Darth Vader". Why wasn't he afraid he'd never be as powerful as Snoke?

Bear in mind I'm obviously just speculating here. I'm just saying it wouldn't make sense to me if that were the case.

Sure you're speculating but just by looking at the movie one could say that Snoke is alive and is the master of Ren who commands and trains him, where Vader is a strong memory and a symbol of DS dominating the galaxy who happens to be his grandfather and also a Jedi who also turned to the dark side. I mean, it doesn't take a genius to understand why Vader is so important to Kylo and why he compares himself to Vader so much. All I'm saying is that clearly there is a lot more than just power involved here which kinda eliminates your original argument.

Again, would rather have Vader > Snoke myself, but not through this reasoning.

With a massively superior army perhaps.

Yeah, but there's gotta be some room for dramatic one v one confrontations.

Except you're all assuming Luke in canon is some demigod like he was in Legends.

Because he doesn't emulate Snoke like he does Vader. It's plain as day why he worships Vader to everyone except your sensitive brain which never liked Snoke from before the movie.

Snoke could have unique abilities, he doesn't nessecarily have to be powerful to pose a direct challenge. Interesting abilities could do that too.

He'll probably have unique powers but also be fairly (or monstrously) powerful in his own right.

Plagueis because he is him

Remember though Snoke seems scared of Luke. Despite having the whole First Order at his command, and having destroyed the main system of the Republic.

In fairness, Snoke has a chance of growing in power over the course of the trilogy too.

^ That's true.

Luke is probably > Palpatine at this point. And you don't have to be weaker than someone to see them as a threat, so their comparative power levels isn't very clear at this moment.

^ Of course nothing is clear. We're just speculating.

I'm just getting from Disney's glorifying of Vader, that he was a total dark side powerhouse, 2nd only to Palpatine himself.

And so Snoke being a very powerful darksider doesn't have to in any way, shape or form make him Vader's equal. I mean heck, Maul's a very powerful dark sider, and has outright admitted he's no match for Vader, after decades of practice in the dark side.

Palpatine wanted him dead at first as well and then changed his plans when he believed he could be turned into an ally. You really are a putz.

DE Sidious level.
Calling it now.
Except the heroes and Kylo Ren stop him before he gains all of his power.

Is it ever actually stated that Snoke fears Luke? IIRC the novel makes it clear that he's obsessed with preventing the Resistance from finding him/doesn't want him to join the fight, but that may reflect a pragmatic consideration of Luke's abilities, not necessarily fear. Palpatine is also obsessed with hunting down the Jedi, even though none of them are as powerful as he is.

^ That's exactly what proves he fears Luke. Because he's content with Luke just staying in hiding. As long as he's away from Snoke.

But tbf to Snoke, even Vader would fear TFA Luke. Whether or not Snoke is on Vader's level though remains to be seen.

I still say composite Dooku level.

^ Dooku level? Whoaa that would make him really powerful.

If he's Dooku level or below that would honestly surprise me.

He's apparently so powerful that Palpatine sensed his power from the unknown regions and sent out entire expedition teams to try to pin down whatever dark side energies he was feeling.
