Having a number advantage is nice, but it's not enough to beat a strong council member and a talented knight-level combatant.
Kenobi's only made a Knight at the end of TPM, but his skill is already solidly in Knight level. I'd say he'd beat any of the Rebels characters one-on-one, if not necessarily easily, and Qui-gon is by far the strongest on the field.

That seems... a bit much to me. I mean, Aurra Sing was quite capable of kicking his butt.
But still, he's definitely no slouch and has a lot of talent, and at that stage a lot of energy.
