Smart Pigs

The article cites PETA, which is probably known more for its offensive, and often false, accusations about animal cruelty, than it is for anything else. However, these are interesting findings. And probably worthy of causing us to reconsider our relationship with pigs. I don't want to spur a war with bacon lovers, because we all know how high-minded such arguments can get ( 🙄 ). But it takes a level of cross-species empathy that not everyone possesses to truly consider what may or may not be ethical in regards to our eating habits. I don't abstain from eating animals, but have dabbled with it in the past. And while it was more for health reasons than animal rights reasons, I'll admit that there's a small satisfaction in realizing that no animals (or at least less) have died on my behalf.

Pigs are the smartest and tastiest of all gods creatures.
