The shots have been brightened up without losing quality, but the movement gives you a better idea of the characters than a still shot.

I don't think it is.

However, in Star Wars: Aftermath there is a bit about armor found on Tatooine that was pitted with acid. Doesn't say it's Boba's but heavily implied.
