The line was pretty vague. Jadzia would invoke "Curzon" pretty often, and that episode where the symbiot was stolen and the pirate leader treated Sisko like an old friend sure looked like the memories carry over.
On the other hand, Ezri in late DS9 established the hosts value their individual uniqueness. She actually bristled at the notion she was Jadzia, if people treated her like that.
If Trills are called "They" now, as if an amalagam instead of an individual, that would be a bit of a retcon on the established lore.

Now see that is an intriguing theory. We have never seen the portal take human form, but who knows what could happen in the 31st century? Or hell it could have had the ability all along but found no need for it in past encounters with Starfleet.
So why be so hostile? The portal never appeared with a human avatar that I recall, right? So it was not super obvious.
