Provide the definition of a sandwhich, then explain how a burrito does not match that definition. 313

A sandwich is typically 'two pieces of bread with something between them', so a burrito wouldn't fit that definition.

Now there are some people who make single bread slice "sandwiches", but we can ignore them

I think Hot-Dogs like, wraps and tacos are in a category of their own. Any time i've gone into a deli or diner, hot dogs are always listed separate from sandwiches on the menu.

that's just an open-faced sandwich.

Covered that already fam. Most rolls are a single piece of bread, so a sandwhich can't be defined as something between two pieces of bread, lest any sandwhich that has a roll for the bread part no longer counting as a sandwhich.

You need to step it up Marwash-sempai.

You wouldn't call a cracker with a slice of cheese on top of it an "open-faced sandwich".

An open-faced sandwhich is just a pizza.

How many sandwiches do you eat with marinara sauce?

Everything Tzeen eats is covered in marinara

buns and rolls start out as one single piece of bread that are sliced to create an opening for filling... that's no different than two slices of Wonder bread, which starts out as a single loaf of bread.

btw, I'm disappointed with these poll results.

thought a lot more people would like meat in their buns.

Two slices of wonderbread are sliced into "two slices", cut cleanly and separated into two entities. Rolls are not. They're still a one-whole piece of bread that's essentially just wrapped around some filling.

You've never heard of a meat-ball sub? You're missing out fam (family) tbh (to be honest).

When you cut a piece of bread into two or more parts, those parts become individual pieces autonomous from the original/each other. This is basic sandwichery 101.

See above. And don't condescend to me fam, I'm a level 80 dutch-crunch aficionado.

Not condescing. Hurt you even thought that tbh.

Separating a roll even partially constitutes as separating the bread into two slices. It's a little known clause in the sandwich rules.

Yeah, but you would consider a meatball sub with only one slice of bread an open faced sandwich?

But yeah, i've never been fond of meatball subs.

If it's okay for it to be one whole piece of bread do long as it has filling in it then a hot-dog and burrito are sandwiches as well!

Edit- I would consider a meat-ball sub with only a single slice of breaf to be like a cold pizza.

you mean, splitting the roll in half?
