I'd have to disagree. As great as edge of tomorrow and Bourne identity are, Pan's Labyrinth is one of the greatest movies of all time. Also those hellboy movies are GOLD dammit, I don't care who disagrees I love them unabashedly

Don't forget Swingers and Go. Both solid movies. Doug is an all around more versatile director, IMO. Plus, he does action better.

I know you'll disagree, but I found Pan's Labyrinth to be highly overrated. Hellboy movies are pretty awesome.

Pan's Lanbrynth is amazing. You might have come in with high expectation from the praise it got. I watched it without knowing much and it was amazing. Heboy is great as well. His use of music made those Pacific Rim fights epic. When it comes to scifi and fantasy, GDT is among thd best directors.

I'd strongly disagree.

I've never understood the hype Del Toro has got. He is completely inconsistent and has created as many bad films as he has good. Yes, Pan's Labyrinth is an amazing film and Hellboy 2 was quite fun with some amazing creature designs. But the original Hellboy is utterly forgettable and films like Pacific Rim and Blade 2 were just complete messes.

I'm gonna have to side with WhiteWitchKing on debate, I'm another fan of his movies.

Limon finally talks about JLD:

"First of all, I love those characters, and I love Warner Bros., and I love [producer] Scott Rudin, and it’s - and you know, I get asked to come in and do things that are 'unconventional.' If people want conventional, they don’t come to me," Liman told IGN. "And so you know when Warner Bros. wants to sort of turn the comic book genre on its head, they call me."
"It’s like how do you fundamentally reinvent what people are doing? And that’s the good and the bad news of this sort of box I’ve been put in. I mean, you’d think it was by design, but it wasn’t...So even if I wanted to be a little bit more conventional, like, the system doesn’t want me to be."

Looks like it's still in development.

I think people will be surprised how character driven and how intimate Justice League Dark is -- in kind of a field of bloated comic book movies. We've found a way to do something that's actually really personal and small, and that's my goal. [My new movie] The Wall is about character. The scenario allows me to dive into what I think is... I just love people! I love putting people in crazy situations. For John Constantine, we have an amazing set-up for him for Justice League Dark that's really human.

Those fights in Pacific Rim were epic, with music so good it's now part of my soundtrack for kick-ass gaming moments. He's got my vote.

Doug Liman has left the project

Well, this movie is never getting made.

****, this could have been DC's GotG and they **** it up.

It was never going to be a GOTG type of movie. That's not what the JLD is about

lol this is so normal for DC movies right now.

To be fair, I'm not surprised. Liman dropped out of Gambit, too. His ideas for JLD wasn't that inspiring, either. Still, it would have been interesting, even though it wasn't really Justice league dark like.

The director of the upcoming IT movie is reportedly being eyed now

^ So at least WB is serious about this happening.

In the way that it'd be an obscure team coming out of the blue with an excellent movie winning over the mainstream audience, that's what I meant.

Supposedly they're trying to get Andrés Muschietti (It).

I guess he left because of scheduling issues.

Update May 23, 2017: Variety reported Tuesday evening director Doug Liman has left Warner Bros.’ Dark Universe, - a.k.a. 'Justice League Dark' - over scheduling issues.

Liman is attached to direct Lionsgate’s Chaos Walking, which was recently green lit.

Variety’s sources say the studio – who had no comment on the story – “has already started meeting with other directors and should have a replacement for Liman lined up shortly.”

That's always the go to excuse.

Not really.
