Actually it's explained that the reason he can survived hits from certain beings is because of his armor. Don't get me wrong, pis/cis plays a part. But Slade's new armor was created to survive powerful hits.

Even worse, if Slade has the God Killer, then Cole has no chance. The GK is a shapeless weapon created by Hephaestus himself to kill Gods.

If you give Slade GK, Cole should get full access to Beast mode.
