Terribly, terribly sorry Edna. But do bear in mind the following:

1. Most people on the road can't drive anyway, having passed their tests by luck, so don't feel inferior.
2. At least they'll let you TAKE the test.
3. Your enforced continuation of cycling will keep you fit
4. You have all your friends here to give you supporting comments from the heartfelt to the patronising...

Actually, did you ever drive in England? The funny thing is that almost everyone avoids the "slow" lane (i.e. left hand lane), therefor it's always empty and all the slow folk drive in the middle lane. So odd.

Did you ever drive in the States? And you're STILL alive? Wow!

I prefer to drive in the States, much more relaxed style of driving. Now if they would just stop all that automatic transmission rubbish I'd be really happy.😄

They've got MUCH better roads, to be sure. But their truck drivers... to them, speed limits are just for other people...

Well, where in the world do people adhere to speed limits?

Germany is the best though. No speed limitations. Excellent.

And automatic transmission is fantastic. I'd love to have one. Why jiggle that stupid stick around. Traffic is slow at rush hour anyway, why keep your foot on the clutch all the time. It's unnecessarily trying and painful after a while.

Besides, with automatic transmission one can drive more sportively than with stick. Kick down is heaven.

Actually the only people who adhere to speed limits are people you are following when you are in a rush. I mean are they psychic or somethig? Geez!

Hang in there, Edna...you WILL pass your test. I know it stinks right now, but like Dimmy said, someday you will look back on it and laugh. We're all behind you here 100 percent. (hug hug).
