If we were talking MLJ versio of Shield instead of the crappy DC copy then Bill Higgins for a majority. The original super Soldier (thats right he saw print 8 months before Captai America) had spidey level strengrh, speed and agility. Was inpervious to small arms fire, had a healing factor and was a bloody weĺl trained H2H combatant.
The DC imprint goes down hard

Exactly. One is a clean press overhead, the other is propped up and leaning against you, ASSUMING the tanks are like their real world counterparts.
My point was the tank lifted by Spidey weighs arou d 30 to 34 tons. The one shield lifted weighs around 60. Even if the actual artwork didnt depict the different tanks the time of both scans supports that. The spidey scan based on the artwork was late 70's early 80's. While the shield one is 2000's. Tanks today weigh a lot more than the late 70's.
It doesnt matter because Spidey should win. He has the speed and agility advantage. Plus experie ce. He wouldn't have those advantages against the MLJ Shield who has decades of in canon experience. Is a master combatant, and matches him in speed and agility while still having the strength and durability advantage.
Vs DC imprint Shie, d Spidey takes 7/10
Vs MLJ classic Shiled takes 5.5 or 6/10

Just curious but are Imprint Shield's decades of experience in print or backstory?
MLJ (ARCHIE ) is the one with decades under the belt
In print, and in back story) He was a golden age character first publeshed 14months prior to Captain america (jan 1940, cap was march 41). His title in the GA went for 51 issues (till Jan 1948). So he was actually one of the longest lasting GA characters in print. Only Superman, Womderwoman, Batman, Aquaman and Green Arrow lasted past that point (Flah and Green Lantern lasted about this long along with Spy Smasher and another MLJ character Black Hood)
He still featured In occasional archie comics (what MLJ is best known for along with Sabrina the teenage witch) after the GA until the Silver age (as he still is today).
He was revived in the silver age though along with other heroes like the Comet, and Black Hood. BH was the nephew of the original. Comet was away from earth and kept young by his space travel. Shield at first was the new shield III (Lancelot strong) then the son of the original (shield II) then the original returned.
Another revival in the 80's with the archie adventure series.
A few years ago MLJ has revived again with a purely on line comic. Shield is the only original mighty Crusader still alive and active in it. He is now depicted as aged quite a bit. Almost all the othe mighty crusaders were killed by their arch enemy the Brain Emeror on revival and the Shield is teaching their kids (the new Crusaders) to replace them. The only other Crusader not killed was Black Hood II whos serving a prison sentance because unlike his uncle he was always MLJ's answer to the Punisher (no qualms about killing the bad guys at all).
Basically the guy in back story has been active in adventuring from 1940 till 2015. In fact with the last revival he was the only Crusader still active (working for the government) while the others ahd long retired and been forgotten. Their kids never even heard of any of them except the Shield.
