Funnily enough, congressed worked a good deal better when people talking to each other, and then stopped working when people who insisted they were always right with no room for talking came into play.
Talking gets stuff done. Holding one's breath til one gets their way... results in the other side waiting til you pass out from holding your breath.

I don't think it's that simple. While wealth influencing politics is a problem, there's also a problem with ideological types who don't want to compromise or work with others.
And the wealthy, like it or not, have a fair amount of power. Consider the League of Nations vs the UN. The League of Nations fell apart because it didn't represent the reality of where power was, while the UN giving the biggest countries representation represented that.
We do need checks against wealth swaying votes, but trying to cut wealth out entirely is a different kind of problem.
The wealthy do have a good amount of power and the reason I don't like it is because most give two shits about the country and they just want more wealth and power. That is why we have so many backwards ass laws in this country, it's why so much shit is in disarray. Rich little pricks with an agenda who feel they should have more say then the common man. These people need a big nice wake up call.
We should make people give up a sizable amount of their wealth if they feel they have any right to hold any serious amount of power. We have too many people who think they should have their cake and eat it too and that the cake should be made out of friggin gold.

As much as people complain about talking wasting time, not talking accomplishes much less 🙂
