Rey vs Luke (ESB) Lightsaber duel

Now for those of you who have seen TFA, then you know Rey kicked Kylo's ass in the saber duel...but then Kylo was almost struggling against Finn. Rey didn't have any lightsaber training but she showed skill when she tapped into the force and beat Kylo. I don't know how trained Luke was with a lightsaber in ESB cuz we didn't actually see any lightsaber training, just force training. Now whilst Luke lost to Vader, he still put up one hell of a fight against Vader who was well trained in lightsaber duelling and who was far superior to Kylo as far as force powers and lightsaber skills, Luke even landed a blow on Vader's shoulder/upper arm. If Rey were to face Luke from ESB one on one in a lightsaber duel, would it be a fair fight or is Luke too strong for her with a saber? Or would Rey actually be able to beat Luke in this saber duel?

Luke handily.

Rey only beat Kylo because he was terribly conflicted and just took a gutshot from the Bowcaster.

Is Rey allowed to go Rambo on him? Cuz she went pretty damn Rambo on Ren.

And how the hell did Kylo survive a gunshot wound from the bowcaster?? And why'd he keep hitting his wound or whatever?

Luke would have the advantage initially but in the middle of the duel they would lock sabers and Rey would close her eyes and "feel" the force.... then beat the crap out of Luke.

We don't know for sure.

Could've been a glancing shot. Or he had some sort of armor.

You can always use the Force as an excuse... force protect + force heal mix, perhaps?

despite Rey feeling the force she gets her ass handed to her here, Luke is just too powerful for her

Yup. Vader had the armor at least, making him somewhat resistant.

Getting tagged by Finn was another reason why Kylo performed so poorly against Rey.

Getting tagged by Finn made him look pretty terrible, all these people who hadn't even been slightly trained and he's looking terrible against them

Yeah, but keep in mind how powerful Wookie Bowcaster was shown to be in Ep. VII. Kylo's lost a lot of blood.

Hopefully, he'll perform better in VIII and IX, once Snoke finishes his training.

Thing is, Darth Vader didn't exactly look like a great lightsaber fighter in the original trilogy. After all, the only fights he had were against a very old Obiwan who allowed himself to get killed and against Luke who only had minimal training.
