OFC Sidious is far stronger than Maul, I never disagreed or said it was an even battle! What I did say was that Sidious would take like 20-25seconds to beat him in a saber duel versus like 2seconds vs someone like Agen Kolar. From the canon Mace is more impressive seeing as how hes second only to Yoda but in the EU alot of Jedi can stalemate him like Tiin or Kolar so Canon Mace is much more impressive.

Also obviously Mace is gona say Yodas above him but IDR him saying anything about Anakin, can you please find the quote for me if u can? I do know that Lucas said you have to be Yoda or Mace to compete with the Emperor and Gillard said Mace was second only to Yoda so that pretty much says Mace > Anakin to me (close tho). Even if Mace isint stronger he could prollay trick him somehow.

I am not 100% sure thats why I made this topic to hear everyones opinions.

Too close to call, really. Though if I honestly had to wager on it, I'd go with Master Windu.

NVMD I remember when Mace says Anakin is stronger than him in the novel. But the novel is contradicted by Lucas and contradicts itself by stating.

This is the moment that defines Mace Windu. Not his countless victories in battle, nor the numberless battles his diplomacy has avoided. Not his penetrating intellect, or his talents with the Force, or his unmatched skills with the lightsaber.

Well going by the canon Mace is def stronger with a lightsaber than Anakin and not that far under Yoda/Sidious according to GL. In the EU he's barley above Kolar or Tiin.

The first and third quotes he posted weren't maybies or seems to be.

The first one is from Episode II, which doesn't even concern Anakin in this thread, and the last is contradicted by Lucas himself who says Sidious' defeat was in question. Finally, none of that shit has to do with lightsaber prowess.

That is an actual comparison/statement that GL says that you have to be Mace or Yoda to defeat the Emperor its not iffy! And Mace being second to Yoda isint iffy ethier! Same with the first! Lucas opinion >>>>> all else he's the guy who made the art were just spectators not the ones to question his show.

TO SUM IT UP Canon Mace is far stronger than EU Mace.

Canon Mace

-Second only to Yoda (confirmed among Jedi)
-Only Jedi/Sith other than Yoda to compete with Sidious (be able to)
-Held his own against Sidious (although Sidious was holding back but still he did hold his own!)

EU Mace
-Said to only be weaker than Dooku/Yoda among Jedi but also said that Qui Gon, Mundi, and Plo Koon can defeat him. Sasukedc (NEWGUY) even showed me the quote.
-Says hes weaker than Depa Billaba.
-Fought evenly with Saesee Tiin
-Had trouble with Sora Bulq, and Dooku thrashed Sora with the help of THOME meaning EU Dooku >>> EU Mace.

Except that you never pointed out you were questioning the truths behind the statements being definite as opposed to the statements themselves, which were definitely definite. Not only that, but the last statement isn't remotely false as far as Mace competing with the Emperor goes.
