In Kurama's case, it was never about good and evil. Can't really recall Kishi ever using Yin-Yang to symbolise good & evil in Naruto.
Yang Kurama's chakra was bright though (full of physical energy/life). I was surprised that Naruto's Bijuu mode looked more or less the same when he had Yin Kurama's chakra.

As does traditional Yin-Yang. There's a small dot of the 'opposite' concept in both Yin & Yang. So they're dualities that aren’t truly opposites, but complementary pairs.
