It's easy to think that Kylo has an advantage in force powers... until we remember that he never really used them against someone also trained with the force. Rey was able to resist his force mind reading even without training.
Maul on the other hand tested his force powers on 2 jedi's. So yeah... Maul for the win.

He pushed Obi Wan as well. Either he pushed him twice or he pushed ObI wan and Qui Gon... and he did these in the middle of a fight.
As to how he beats Kylo, he just cuts him in half with a lightsaber.

As previously mentioned, Kylo never really used his force powers on someone trained with the force, so we don't know if it will actually work on a full sith or jedi. Maul on the other hand has used his force powers while battling two jedi.
