Skyscrapers vs Tornadoes/Hurricane's

I personally believe a Skyscraper, at its core, is not only strong enough to survive ANY Tornado, but also protect people on some of the floors better then any house would.

Why is that?

Well, unlike houses, what keeps a skyscraper up is pure reinforced steel and glass, occasionally some concrete on different floors, which would be the bezt place to hide due to some of those areas not having windows.

Dunno, I realize this is kind of a weird topic, but I'd like your opinion.

what if a tornado picks up a whole house then goes into the city and hurls it at a skyscraper?
maybe houses should be built more like skyscrapers

Would have to see what would happen if a Really big nado slammed directly into scraper before could state opioon.

Just as well, it'd have to be burning on many floors for it to melt the steel for it to collapse.

So yeah, Walsh, if the house starts a fire in the building and the fire rages through-out the entire skyscraper for longer then 10 hours, while the Tornado is still going on during that time, and manages to melt the reinforced steel keeping it up, then the Skyscraper may lose.

It's not fair, at least give the skyscraper arms and legs to defend itself.

Steel > Wind.

No matter how powerful the wind current is, its not going to take down that steel without some type of physical force, plus a LOT of burning.

I want some of what ever kool aid Jammy is smoking.

How does calling it a fluke make sense when it didn't happen to just a single tower? There just happened to be two flukes in a row, in the same place on the same day?

With that said..yeah a skyscraper should survive any tornado, it's hard to imagine any tornado could just suck it up Wizard of Oz style. I wouldn't want to be near any windows when it hits. But then that is true for any building in a tornado.

Also, there were more then two buildings that got attacked that day, there were three.

That sounds less like a fluke though and more like it just depending on the circumstances.

What kind of tornado? What kind of skyscraper?
