So what exactly Thanos is capable of?

I am aware of the fact that he is immortal but don't know much else. I do not read Marvel comics.

Though, Thanos needs more then immortality to tackle a foe like Valkorion.

You assume that everybody is a Marvel freak?

My knowledge of Marvel characters is limited because I do not read Marvel comics. At maximum, I would watch a movie.

Moreover, my participation in the Galactus versus Valkorion thread is minimum. I responded to the query of a member about him; Valkorion is not a well-known character outside Star Wars circles.
