Norrin was wrong in his initial assessment. This was explained later in the same comic.Edit. To answer the question, Eternity was "sporting Doom's mask" because he is (tautologically) the reflection of the reality he reflects.
Even in the last issue of Surfer's series, it was made clear that Doom was controlling Eternity:

Anything else?

So you agree with my initial post, now? Doom didn't replace Eternity, just controlled him?

Doom usurped, and therefore controlled Eternity. It is stated right there in the comic. Explicitly.Simple logic is simple.
I don't know what you mean by "usurp Eternity". But Doom did NOT replace Eternity. Controlled, sure, since he controlled the reality which Eternity represents. But he didn't REPLACE him (he didn't take his place).
I don't have any problems with that scan since I know what was said on the pages that followed it. The only problem I had was with you claiming that Doom replaced Eternity, since such a claim is incorrect.
Also, this begins to bore me. You can believe whatever you want; I just corrected your error so that the other forum members won't get wrong data.

Personally, I think that Doom(packing the Beyonders' power) was able to usurp, and subsequently control Eternity--that also seemed to be the heavy implication in the final issue, imo. But if you didn't view the scene that way, that's fine... Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Either way, mucking with Eternity is still Doom's best feat in terms of scale... Though overcoming the IG might be better in terms of raw power(I didn't even think of that for some reason.)

"Usurp" means to take the place of someone in power illegally or by force. That's the definition. So Doom replacing Eternity is pretty accurate.
replace
1. to take the place of; supersede: the manual worker is being replaced by the machine.
2. to substitute a person or thing for (another which has ceased to fulfil its function); put in place of: to replace an old pair of shoes.
3. to put back or return; restore to its rightful place
Doom didn't replace Eternity in the sense of 1, since he didn't take Eternity's place. Nor did he throw away the old Eternity and appoint a new one, so 2 doesn't apply either. Nor does 3, since Eternity was never displaced and then restored to his rightful place, by Doom.
Therefore, Doom did not replace Eternity in any of the commonly accepted interpretations of the word.

u·surp
1. take (a position of power or importance) illegally or by force.
2. take the place of (someone in a position of power) illegally: supplant.
^ Definition number 2 is a match: "take the place of..."
God Emperor Doom? Dafuq? This must be a parody of the Emperor of Mankind 😂
So, I guess 616 Molecule Man is confirmed to be the strongest single entity in the history of Marvel/Disney comics evar (besides Mickey Mouse, ofc.) Giving Reed Beyonder powers that rival Emperor of Mankind Doom, a power that eclipses the Beyonders, the Infinity Gauntlet and Living Tribunal... that has to be Marvel's strongest feat to date.
