Migrant Boat Tragedies Off Greek Coast: 17 Kids Among 42 Drowned

For me this is why I think you always need to temper your need to flee with making sure you do so as safe as possible, especially if you have children with you. Something like this should of been avoidable.

Many of them don't have a choice, it's either stay where they are which I assume is unsafe or take a risk on a shitty overcrowded boat because the smugglers want to maximize their profits.

For me if I'm fleeing because I want my kids to be safe then I'm only going to flee in a way that makes sure my kids are safe.

It would be nice if that was an option for everyone, but sometimes in real life you only have the choice between shitty choices.

It's easy to come to that conclusion in the safety of your own home.
Sorry but it's a bit naive to think you have the luxury of time, options & money when you're fleeing a war torn country.
