Satele beating Plagueis is still funnier.
Satele Shan have the ability to absorb energy of a Lightsaber to fuel her power. Of-course, this isn't something that she will prefer to do everyday due to affiliated risks and difficulty.
However, we have visual proof of what an (augmented) Satele Shan can do, be it a circumstantial development. She went from loosing to Darth Malgus to outright pwning him + shattering the environment around him. Darth Malgus somehow survived the incident but was badly wounded and was forced to abandon his mission on Aldeeran as a consequence.
So yes, somebody strong enough (or boosted enough) to dominate Darth Malgus like a ***** can defeat Darth Plagueis.
Of-course, Darth Plaguies can defeat Satele Shan. But if the latter pulls off her Lightsaber-absorbing feat against him, then she can dictate the outcome.
Get over it.

Not really, she still would have died without a doubt had it not been for Malcom. He saved her, bought her time to gather her power, and even injured Malgus.

Also, I get the impression that Satele Shan waited for Jace Malcom to get out of the way. As soon as Malcom was down, Satele quickly bombarded Darth Malgus with her powers.

Not necessarily. She might have pulled it off on her own.
Doubtful, her situation was pretty bleak. She was looking to get the Kylo treatment.

I did not get that impression.
As soon as Malcom was down, Satele unleashed her power in a short span of time.
As opposed to just sitting there until Malgus is ready to pound her again?

Indeed, Malgus at his peak... 🙄

Anyways, back on topic, Hoth wins.
His mastery of all seven forms is beyond Malgus's ability to handle, and his tactics are superior as well, as Hoth is a master tactician who has been fighting the Sith for years. Malgus on the other hand has tactical tunnel vision.
If I may draw an analogy, Malgus is the prodigious chess player who acts on often correct natural instinct, but Hoth is the seasoned chess player and will ultimately beat Malgus in the longer game.
