I've never once said all racism and all racist acts are equal. The closest you could ever come to is in the Ghostbusters thread when people thought I was saying this, but I was in reality just saying I don't think racism is lesser based on the race of the racist. It is the act itself.

Never have I said something like getting called the N word and being lynched by a mob are the same, or anything like that. Especially in the recent exchange in this topic at no time did I say all racist acts are equal.

All racism clearly isn't equal. But I've found most people who say this, use it as a rationalization on who it's ok to wrongly attack.

Just because a white guy in Texas doesn't suffer the same oppression as a black lesbian woman in Texas, does that mean we should not only turn a blind eye at lumping all white Texans together as a monolithic entity, but encourage it?

Imo, that kind of allowance does less to challenge institutional oppression, as it does to incite "the other" to anger. People usually don't listen to you if they feel you're attacking them.

No real dissagreement with what you said, but in my personal experiences most people who recognize the differences, don't turn around and at racist/bigoted themselves. Though I've met some. eg I especially don't understand when Black Americans are homophobic, when growing up Black in America they most likely experienced bigotry themselves, that goes both ways.

I mean you might as well wonder why blacks commit crimes against other blacks at all if you want to use this line of thought. Though I'm not saying it is the wrong line of thought.

Crimes are typically for personal gain (burgarlies, robberies etc), or emotionally charged, (beating someone in a fit of rage, killing our if jealously etc). So not sure what I said is relatable with what you said.

There would be no need for arguing, I legitimately thought you were saying because of the racial injustices they experienced that they shouldn't treat other blacks unjustly. At least I thought that was the jist of what you meant.

The comparison was more on the grounds on the history of certain peoples being treated as 2nd class citizens by society.

Racism is a word the left use to cover their own bigotry and accuse anyone who disagrees with them as mean.

I guess black people need to be looked after and we need to be told not to shoot them because of how bad white people are....
