Roger Corman is making this new one and seems to be in the spirit of the original movie

In the not-too-distant future, America is controlled by an all-powerful corporate government that keeps the masses placated with violent virtual-reality entertainment. The event of the year is the Death Race, where a motley assortment of drivers compete in a cross-country road race, scoring points for running down pedestrians and killing each other. The reigning champion and popular favorite is half-man, half-machine Frankenstein — but little does he know he’s taken on a rebel spy as his co-pilot.

stars Manu Bennett (The Hobbit franchise) as Frankenstein, as well as Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) as the Chairman, Burt Grinstead (“NCIS”),

I will watch this.

I seriously didn't even know it was Manu Bennett who played Azog, right up until I saw that now and bothered to check. But then I found that whole trilogy massively forgettable. I liked Bennett in Spartacus though.

Nope, just that one shitty version with Jason Statham. But now I'm intrigued.

The Statham version seemed rather dark, despite some ridiculous action sequences. The trailer for that one seems a lot more... flamboyant.

If you know of the game Carmageddon, Its basically where they got the idea from.

I know being a dullard is your schtick around here, but not all Corman flicks are of poor Asylum Films-like quality often seen on the SyFy channel. eg Frankenstein Unbound, while cheesy, isn't of shit quality for early 90's.

I watched all 3 of the last Death Race movies, which got progressively more stupid in explaining who Frankenstein was.

That and the Original Death Race was a Cheap as hell movie, and it shows but it still rocks.
