Kylo didn't get beat with a Stormtrooper, did he? Kylo was prolonging the fight and toying with his opponents, which cost him with someone who already showcased experience with melee weaponry (Rey).

Sheesh. Watch the fight again. Both Rey and Finn are defensively fighting and barely keeping up for nearly the entirety of both fights.

Kind of Ren's own stupidity though for toying with them when he was already badly injured.
