Not true, there are just as many females in the general audience as males. The idea that women are only interested in the notebook is disingenuous. There's a serious double standard going where no one bats an eye to the leading man but when it's a woman she's hyper scrutinized. Had Rey been a guy in TFA there'd be absolutely no accusation of Mary Sue or whatever from idiots on twitter. Also a strong empowered character means that he or she is written to be dynamic, multi-faceted and sometimes flawed but ultimately courageous in some way, not just punch bad people really hard and do back flips.
