He's got a point. Most people that watch Star Wars are white males. It's the target demographic. If Star Wars keeps casting female leads eventually they're going to lose profit.

I highly doubt this movie will do even 75% of what TFA did.

I think what he's saying is he's sick of the SJW movement.

Not true, there are just as many females in the general audience as males. The idea that women are only interested in the notebook is disingenuous. There's a serious double standard going where no one bats an eye to the leading man but when it's a woman she's hyper scrutinized. Had Rey been a guy in TFA there'd be absolutely no accusation of Mary Sue or whatever from idiots on twitter. Also a strong empowered character means that he or she is written to be dynamic, multi-faceted and sometimes flawed but ultimately courageous in some way, not just punch bad people really hard and do back flips.

Like I said its just an observation. Im not angry or ranting.
This doesnt seem too forced and she will most likely be great.
Just that including empowered women into film seems to be the current trend and if you dont then youll get spammed by SJW's in all forms of social media.

Im just not blind to trends. But I guess its just my imagination.

"Trend" lol

That's like someone in the 40's saying black people in sports will just be a "trend". Women are just as good as men are at acting and performing in big budget blockbusters...

Excuse me? Research please before throwing out false information. There were not "Just as many women". Star Wars has always been a male dominated event in terms of audience. TFA ticket sales were comprised of almost 60% adult males.

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/majority-of-star-wars-the-force-awakens-goers-are-adult-men-with-no-kids-a6781341.html

Also, 70% of pre-ticket sales were men ages 18-49

So you dont see any "forced" inclusion of females just for the sake of it without making much sense nowadays?

If its natural then its fine, but if its to fit a trend of agenda then its stupid.

Im not saying this is the case for Rogue One but it is for others movies recently.

These new Star Wars movies need to inspire a whole new generation of boys AND girls alike. Appealing to only a small demographic of white adult men is called one-dimensional, idiotic and is stuck in a very particular and outdated mindset. Step out of the cave cave man

Whichever characters service the most compelling story are the ones that should be on screen. It doesn't matter what gender.

Did I throw a single insult at you? Wow, you SJW's are really sensitive. I give you facts; not to say that there shouldn't be female leads; but to support my previous statement that their target demographic is adult males. I prove you wrong, so you resort to name calling. Fantastic. SJW code I guess.

Agree it's refreshing to have more female leads but don't agree with this.

Peoples problem with that was that she just began to use the force and could suddenly overpower a trained force user like Kylo Ren.

Once she's fully trained, then by all means have her kick Ren's butt. And Snoke's while she's at it.
