I finally have a weekend off and got to see Rogue One.

Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie made since The Empire Strikes Back, hands down.

The problem with Rogue One, however, is that it is so extraordinarily well made that, at times, it completely lost me as a Star Wars film; it's that in depth and engrossing. Only when I saw glimpses of Episode IV nostalgia and Easter eggs did my mind snap back into a Star Wars state of mind from an espionage/action film with incredibly dark overtones, my mouth fixated into an ear-to-ear fanboy-ish grin.

Well done. I can't wait to see what future films hold in store.

They had to de-canonize Kyle Katarn because he would have destroyed StarKiller base on his own.

Yeah especially the spin off films if R1 is anything to go by.

One thing that bothered me a bit was that X-Wings are supposed to have shields yet turrets and TIE fighters were one-shotting them.

Even shielded, X-wings and Y-wings were getting destroyed in ANH and in ROTJ, that's just how powerful the cannons are. Yes they can protect from laser cannon fire, but it's not always a sure thing given the power of the cannons.

Well, I know THAT. Not saying they should deflect cannons all the time. But even in ANH during they were able to absorb hits from turrers during the trench run. Heck Luke's X-wing took a direct hit to the engine during ANH and just shrugged it off.

I was looking for a single scene where they at least took a hit and survived. But I can't recall a single X-wing surviving even a single direct hit. It's like they buffed the Empire foddee troops to make them more formidable unlike in the OT (w/c is a good thing). Pretty minor and irrelevant gripe, I agree. Enjoyed the movie a lot.

They seemed the same compared to the rest of the movies. /Shrug

Except in the OT no one was a Whiny Emo Cry baby....And No. Luke was not EMO in STAR WARS. A jerky Teen yes. But not Emo.

Only Millennial Emo Hipsters have that quality.

A whiny teen that had an arc. Starting as a naive kid who just wanted to not be bored, to a responsible leader willing to sacrifice himself to redeem his father and destroy evil.

Yes. Now the Arc is all about how long they can keep the Dark & Gritty mixed with the Whiney Emo.

Totally diff

Must be hard for you to sleep at night, Always worrying about the Millennial Emo Hipsters.

Not really. Seeing as how they are the biggest cry babies in the world I am pretty sure an actual uprising could be stopped just by putting a Twilight and Nu Star Wars Marathon on TV.

Spot on. People such as Robtard and Darth Thor love flat, generic characters (heroes mind you Krennic was captivating) are mocked ingeniously so by these hilarious gents. This is what Darth Thor has pitifully even admitted he loves star wars for space battles. He said this is more essential to the mythos than light saber battles so this is exactly all he cares about. **** the characters just generic battles and no emotional connection.

When the only character you care about dying is the robot then there's a serious problem with characterisation.
