I don't know how to account for it having such a high rating on RT (85%).
This is a bunch of bologna...
Critics Consensus: Rogue One draws deep on Star Wars mythology while breaking new narrative and aesthetic ground -- and suggesting a bright blockbuster future for the franchise.

R1 was great. I personally rate it higher than Force Awakens.

They werent as weak as the Ultron Clones in the AoU... 😂
The clones in AoU could be utterly destroyed by a small woman with a taser!

Oh that stupid fanboy theory.
It actually has some teeth...
The voice actor for Jar Jar did confirm that some (but not all) of the Fan Theory was accurate:

And yet gone back to Naboo to be a street performer.
Call it what you want, but we know the actor himself says this:
"What I can say about it is – and I kinda said this on Twitter –there's a lot about it that's true"
So given that that indicates, at a bare minimum, that Jar Jar was atleast a Force User, its very suspicious that he would show up in Rogue One as he did...
I mean, look at him; he isnt smiling or acting goofy...
He's standing in shadow away from the main characters, but he's watching them intently...
Clearly there is more here than meets the eye given what we know of the character...
But whatever...
I dont think they threw Jar Jar in there just for the hell of it...
