True, unfortunately. This movie to me though has been the anti-Ghostbusters in that sense so far, and am still really looking forward to it and hope it's good.
Yeah, unlike Ghostbusters her trailer doesn't look horrible, it looks interesting.
But we've had people complain about how she didn't get enough advertisement, we've had complaints because they were sponsored by some diet bars with the word "thin" in the title.
It just seems when you have these movies with female leads, especially action movies like this, there is this added pressure that shouldn't be there. That certainly doesn't help the lead actress or the other actors. There is almost this feeling that if the movie does well in the box office and with critics it's a victory for women in general and if it doesn't it's a sign of how things still aren't equal(even though they are).
It's weird when I miss the days when the biggest outcry would be from comic nerds upset over inaccuracies, etc.

LoL, Surtur needs to effing relax. At least wait until the bespectacled blue-haired women rant about the film before you start complaining about it. Jeez.
I am relaxed. One can type out 6 sentences and still be relaxed. Was there anything else or were you trying to turn this thread into another debate that doesn't need to be had?

It will be fun to see the "Femanist" reaction to it if it does bomb .

Wow... they didn't even wait for it to bomb..
