Biggest victim of The Worf Effect

My pick

Aside from her fight with Bats back in Death in the Family, beating Connor Hawk and beating Nightwing in Nu52. I see Shiva as someone who's sole purpose in comics is to make other characters look good. Batgirl, that telepath dude from Birds of Prey, Jason Todd etc

Martian manhunter

Err I dunno, I don't consider jobbing and Worfing to be the same exactly. I don't consider Shiva a jobber as she doesn't lose that often and more so others get elevated to her level. In Martian's case ala jobbing he often gets brought down.

Thor

J'onn fits both criteria, I would argue. They just happen at different times. When a new enemy appears in JLA, it's usually either J'onn or Superman that gets put down to show just how dangerous the enemy is.

In Avengers, Thor quite a bit.

X-Men? I dunno... Rogue maybe. Wolverine sometimes.

Manhunter... Easily.

Sick power set, but gets beat the phukk down too often.

Surely Wolverine

Red Tornado

Lady Shiva doesn't fit that bill, she lost to Batgirl b/c she wanted to lose, in comics TP trumps common sense , I don't ever recall her losing to Jason Todd. But in DC the person that fits the bill is MM for someone of his potential he has lost at least 5X more times than SM eventhough he has less 1/10 his apperance per yr.

Apollo from wildstorm

Thor

Ben Grimm.

His entire reason for existing is to get the crap kicked out of him by Hulk/Gladiator/Uber brick of the week, while the trio works on a plan.

And for DC, the entire GL Corp.

All 2600 or however many they have these days should be able to handle anything, but they usually end up getting slaughtered. Even teams with Kyle, John, Sodam Yat, and GANTHET get stomped by Mongul or a single Quadron, until Sinestro or Hal comes along and handles things..

Wonder Woman and Supergirl. Though not even close to other guys mentioned here

She got one shotted by Todd in Red Hood and the Outlaws while Todd was also fighting like 6 or 7 League of Assassin Manbats who are 5 Tonnors

Galactus. No contest.

He is one of the top three/four powers in any MU and he regularly gets shat on by new forces/power-wielders, in order to make the threat credible-looking.

That and the jobbing he does.

Croc. Rhino.

In recent times, the Phoenix.

Mephisto

Superman & MM are good choices but yes, Galactus is an excellent choice.
