He can't get them all before they close the distance and kill him.

Well, if nothing else, he most likely won't have to deal with their "mysticism" throwing off his senses.

Yeah, have to admit that is one area where Matt's senses give him a massive edge over most others, at least under normal circumstances. He isn't dependent on line of sight to "see" who's around him.
