Yoda vs. Sidious (ROTS)

Who would win if the duel had continued? A lot of people say that Yoda was outmatched but to me it seemed like he actually had the upper hand at times.

This has been done to death. Yoda admitted he didn't have it in him to win and ran away.

Replace Yoda with Galen Marek and then we have a fight on our hands.

All out- Sidious. He will make this a force battle in which I believe he will show a very slight margin or superiority.

The website repeatedly says that Sidious won and was more powerful. The only area that Yoda might be better in is dueling, because the old script and the junior novel had him disarming the Emperor, but even then, that might just be him taking one of his 5/10 wins against the Emperor. I personally think they're about equally skilled, and Nick Gillard's comments make it hard to imagine a superior duelist to Sidious, even if it's someone like Yoda.

I wouldn't say Yoda ever truly lost the fight. When the were in that Force standoff at the end, Yoda, who was lighter, was standing on the edge of the pod. Sidious who was heavier was standing in it. I think when Yoda got up from his fall he decided continuing the fight wasn't a good idea.

Yeah it was clearly a stalemate. Yoda realized that he didn't have the ability to defeat Sidious. But at the same time, it didn't seem to me that Sidious ever had an advantage over Yoda.

Plus Sidious clearly appeared afraid once Yoda turned his head back and got serious.

Yoda lost, but it was a circumstantial loss. He also disarmed Sidious in the Saber match up.

All Out Rematch: Yoda 6/10.

Except the website blatantly states that Sidious was too strong for Yoda to defeat. Some sources state that Sidious won, others that it was a draw, but absolutely none of them suggest that Yoda was winning. You'd have to reach pretty far to spin it in Yoda's favor.

^ I didn't say Yoda won the fight though. I said he lost that fight, but it was a circumstantial loss Imo. But Yoda's powers seemed to be a match for Sheev's, and given Yoda won the Saber fight, I'd personally give him the edge in a rematch.

Also Palpatine being too powerful to defeat is a relevant statement to make. Given if that was Dooku he was fighting instead, circumstances or not, Yoda would have won.

You were willing to give Yoda 6/10 in the rematch, so that's basically the same thing.

No because he lost the 1 fight he had. But I'm saying based on the specifics of that fight I'd personally give Yoda the edge in a rematch on neutral ground. Though I have no problem with anyone thinking otherwise.

Did Sidious win the Force fight? I remember Sidious going flying back after a Force explosion, and Yoda falling off the edge of the pod.

IMO The mere fact that Yoda won the Saber fight, shows he clearly is capable of defeating Sidious.
