Was Hitler a progressive liberal Socialist? POLL

Hitler was a national socialist because he was in a socialist country. He also hated communists. He was actually radically right wing compared to most of the parties in the country at the time and wanted a country for German people. This is comparable to most new right wing parties. He was a nationalist first. This is common knowledge.

Common knowledge is not always synonymous with the right knowledge. Just saying.

Hitler was progressive...progressively drug addled and stupid..more and more as the war went on. Who knew being bi polar and combining that with massive amounts of amphetamines would be a BAD thing, right?

Btw Sorry for triple post, but my edit function went rogue on my phone. 😬

So it's settled, Hitler was a right wing conservative with a strong sense of nationalism 👆

He was super worried about chronic flatulence too. I'm dead serious. His physical ailments and the treatment of those ailments actually played a bigger role in history then people realize.

He was also a married bachelor and an atheist creationist 👆

Hitler to Otto Strasser, May 21, 1930:

I am a Socialist, and a very different kind of Socialist from your rich friend, Count Reventlow

Yep Hitler had some wacky beliefs. He also surrounded himself with pure crazy as well. Like there was this one nazi who seems mostly normal and nazi-ish and then you find out he believes fairies, trolls, and elves used to truly exist but have more or less gone nearly extinct, but that German people are descended from them.

The funny thing is I think both of you are right about Hitler. Remember: he was bi polar and this was heavily exacerbated by various medications.

Tbh It does not matter now. What matters is that he was a scumbag sh*t. 👆

Yeah, I heard about that too. Hitler was supposedly very much into old Germanic myths, fantasy and fairy tales. He thought he embodied the barbaric heros of the sagas.

How does that counter that Hitler wasn't an atheist?

Agreed though, Hitler was a very different kind of socialist, he was of the Right Wing Conservative variety 👆

Yeah he had an interest in the occult. The reason as to why vary depending on who you ask. Some say he just saw it as another potential tool he could use for propaganda...others say he did actually believe in that kind of stuff.

Goebbels and others said he despised organized religion. His religious views will probably neverbe known, but I tend to believe he only used the church/Christian iconography for his own twisted purposes.

It doesn't. Hitler was into occult so not an atheist indeed.

Indeed... in a similar fashion Atheism is a different kind of Christianity 👆

Regarding the "socialist" in National Socialist, the Nazis didn't really identify with socialists in terms of being pro-worker or anti-private property, but they had socialist tendencies in that they distrusted independently wealthy people and distrusted enterprises completely independent of the central government. However they fully supported the existence of private property and were opposed to communist-style collectivism.

In the end though, it doesn't matter much what economic plan a totalitarian has, be it fascist or communist or something else--totalitarians are interested in accruing absolute power.

I think people who jump toward Hitler comparisons for political arguments are just revealing their lack of imagination and lack of reason. Hence why I've never made a direct comparison between a certain candidate and Hitler, because even if I think there are tinges of hyper-nationalism, populism, and even fascism in his rhetoric and the behavior of some of his supporters, bringing up such a comparison would be hyperbole and an oversimplification, and would only serve to entrench anyone I was trying to sway.

tl;dr Hitler comparisons are almost never valid and only serve to show you're an idiot if you use them

Plus he had a stupid mustache. Silly Hitler

To be fair, before he ruined it, the toothbrush mustache was actually pretty fashionable.

Damn, we should be glad he didn't have one of those big twirly mustaches, because if he'd ruined those it would be unforgivable.

The guys who do Dragon Ball Z Abridged had a **** marry kill with Hitler, Stalin, and Trump. They went with "marry" Trump because they could divorce him and take some of his money, kill Hitler, and **** Stalin...because mustache rides.
