Though I may be missing much of hype in the encyclopedic realities.

The problem with Ren is that we don't quite know the full extent of his power and his only dueling feat had circumstances against him.

Yeah that was kinda the point of this thread. It's pointless assuming Ren is shit because of that fight when someone as powerful Ventress can barely stand after getting shot in the shoulder by a blasterbolt.

I feel like all we can really say about his upper limit is that he isn't Vader level.
