A shitty rushed out block buster that is trying to abuse of your nostalgia is a shitty rushed out block buster that try to abuse of your nostalgia, no matter the dude behind etc.. Except if it is made by spielberg and Tarentino...
It is not a meh movie, it is a shitty movie that try to look good, and pull some trick so you do not notice the shit going there.
Spielberg was right about the old franchise coming back... remember that Jurassic park movie are crittic upon the cinematographic industry and Jurassic world was no different.
I'm not going to talk about the scene by scene copy paste pf episode IV and V, it can be done, but you have to fit those similar moment within the plot, AKA the global plot, or within the franchise scenario, and give a meaning to it, or do it with a certain subetility like KotOR do... Here it is none of these, it is not even organic to the plot ! Not even high concept.

There is a language in the way you film a movie, and here we are in 2015 where this art should be mastered, but NOPE, THE ENTIRE MOVIE IS ALSMOT ALWAYS IN FREAKIN CLOSE-UP AND EVERYBODY REMEMBER THE SHOT THAT ARE NOT ACTION SCENE AND THE CAMERA ZOOM OUT TO LET YOU SEE WHAT IS BEHIND THE CHARACTERS !!!
How did you not noticed this? The movie start in a shuttle it at the the clostrophobia, and then a super violent action scene, we do not now what it is going on because of the camera it work well... It had to the ambiance.
N°2 the pacing.. Sometime I was super bored by georges lucas slow paw... And it is not episode II, episode V too, Ho dear you sur do not remember, Luke is gone, shoudl we rescue him? No we wait ! The empire is invading the rebels base they are inside now should we evacuate? No we wait again ! We wait for yoda revealing himself, we wait even the asteroïd sequence ! EVEN IN TEH CLOUD CITY !!! Rewatch episode V and you will get bored before you get your twisted dark side ending.
But that JJ dude, I dod not if he was on steroïd because of the pressure that disney put onto his shoulder, but he mannage tomake me regret Lucas slow paw that according to many crittics would have made une prise "en contre-pied" of the actual modern cinema, so I'm not the only here hating his shitty pacing...
And I've come to realise that those close up and shitty pacing are here to hide the emptyness of the film... The lack of new envirnement (like teh rpequel trilogy bring to us) is hidden by the camera, that for some reason is well handed only in cool action scene...
And the pacing is here to hide us the emptyness of the character, their lack of charisma, when it should have make us accept that those dude are normal people, Rey is just a star wars fanboy, because JJ wanted normal character like in the original trilogy.. But the Irony of this is that Rey become more mary sue than the original trilogy character because of her special bound to the force that is throw at our face, luke in episode IV is a normal dude, throw into the arena, and we have to wait that amazing final scene to discover that dude have somthing special.
Not only that but the movie is like saying the plot the plot moove the plot, so it ruins character influence over the plot, pointing out the uselessness of the characters... Normaly character moove the plot, they encounter limits or other characters that sift the plot, or at least give us the illusion, where something call destiny in the force is in charge, like in KotOR for example, you know that the story is shifted by teh character and what they are, their own problems and struggles, but you can feell the influence of the force, something that is in Japanese and CHinese lore called destiny. But all we have here is forced coïncidence and that look bad. JJ go read some old Japanese stuff, that how lucas imagined the Force.
The flash back sequence, making Ray run away, did you felt anything? except a meh, or a wut? This because JJ is use to make sery, and this is a bad habit for a movie, because it should be meaning something to you.
Ho and by the way this movie take the classic journey format and apply it to the new adolescent generation, and so the character are trying to run away rather that accepting the voyage, that will sound odd from a guy that reward risk taking and complain about this movie taking no risk.. But If you are not cappable of handeling that and find a way to make them run back in the journey via an organic matter you just don't do that, altho is was not that bad..
Next light saber, fight.. What I hate about the original trilogy fight is that they just suck (episode IV) or they are not elegeant, they wieled they light saber like giant claymor that weight 3 tons (part II of the fight on bespin I love the elegeance of the fight at start, and episode VI the first real light saberfight according to many of us.)
And apparently for JJ abrahams bringing back the emotionnal tension of the original trilogy is making the two duelist wielding their light saber like giant claymore, rather that enlighting teh danger of each blow, of having the plot creating a motiv that bring tension to the fight. He think that it is about wielding their light saber like giant claymore...
For Kylo Ren, I do not really mind a pathetic Villan, but it is obvious that Kylo Ren will join the light side or die in a pathetic maner, I bet my money on him coming back as anakin skywalker hum I MEAN JACEN SOLO, but unlike Malak or Vader he lack the menacing threat... Not only his redemption to obvious but the pathetic in him is just to big.. Where with Malak Malak was a corner beast at the end of KotOR, and malak is also a great pathetic Villan, a Villan that we pitty, but I do not mind him I hope that the movie will give us more Han solo death, were we pitty that cat that is lunch in the arena with the lions, and that he abuse of that pitty to strike a main character down.. He also bring some cool thing like the freeing a blaster bolt thngy, the vader helmet scene, that was great because it is a descent scene in a boring movie, I also notice that the camera was well used on the villan side, and also the interogation scenes, the ray interrogation scene was amazing because it was teh second time the movie suprised me (first one was the millenium falcon scene)
I also really mind the lack of charism on the villan side, they also haven't let them the oopportunity to do so but you know...

The last part is the movie prentending to continue teh saga but in the end is trying to show that it have a bigger dick that the original trilogy, and unlike KotOR it do nothing to impress me, another lame death star no cool super weapons like the star forge, no HK-47 no Kreia, no new fighting style, cuz you know 2015 it's not like we have teh best sword choregraphy ever in our days but nope, all the enw thingy is some shitty modern block buster bad habit.
It bring some interesting concept tho, but ruin it because bad script etc.. it ruin Finn conversion, by adding to much manichism, you know that giving a face to the faceless storm troopers was genius idea, but if it is to shot them like fry chiken later on... It's not like they could be like Fin, cuz you know they are on the super ovious bad guy side. It is like I say no matter how many cool concept you introduce modern shitty rushed out bluck buster will always fail to exploit them....
Ho and by the way, is someone here cappble of explaining why there is a resistance? I can explain it, it is just liek what I say the movie prentend to continue teh saga, whne it try to have a bigger dick that the OT even if JJ is pretending that it did not even try to do better, because teh bastard know that is out of his reach.
You can resume this film in JJ abrahams making starkiller base and compare it to the death star, in the end it look like begigger but it is lame. If JJ had the balls to put his nuts on the table and say Hi disney let me chill and relax. Rather than spending all the movie budget in anti-stress pills in order to have the movie come out in time.. And you see by the overuse of CGI on some scene that were supossed to be shot without it (according to some crittics, personnaly if I do not encounter some creatures like doomsdays in batman V superman I'm fine, I'm pro CGI).
This movie was hey look we know how to make a star wars movie, and I was nope, but you still have two try. And the dude behind do not rassure me, but again, cinema is full of miracle made by shitty man (AKA Jacob scale), and disaster made by competent man (AKA battle royal II).
