Can somebody please tell me what was so impressive about Vision in Civil War? I mean, I get what he could be, but what did he actually do in the movie? The way you guys talk about him... he should've soloed Cap's team, only he didn't, and frankly, he wasn't much of a factor or a big hitter in that scene.

Vision was there making sure the teams didn't kill each other. He wasnt there trying to kill or harm anyone. I thought this was easy enough to follow. Don't know how people missed this.
Even when he was distracted with Wanda he almost killed War Machine by accident.
He wasn't invested too much on the Avengers scuffles.
Again this was pretty obvious.

So he wasn't firing at anybody during the fight scenes or doing anything?
Vision was holding back, being more of a nanny to all than taking a "we're going to win this" approach. eg when he phased through Giant-Man, he could have in theory just changed his density while inside and insta-killed Scott. His gem-attack could have downed everyone in a single hit barring BP, though a sustained blast would do it, imo.
But then again, all but one of the combatants weren't trying to kill or seriously harm each other, since they're friends. BP was really the only person out for blood in that fight and maybe Bucky when defending himself against BP's BBC.

My point was never that he was going for the kill. It was to combat this theory that he did nothing the entire time and stayed out of it. He didn't. He did attack and he did counter. Granted I know what he could be, but he wasn't for whatever reason, obviously partly because he was holding back.
Vision was the nursemaid. Even when Hawkeye rescued Wanda, he wasn't trying to hurt them. He had full use of his laser and could have blasted Clint at any time. At the airport he could have hurt or killed Scott. And as casually as he blocked getting hit by a truck, and as heavy as he can get by upping his density(when Wanda made him fall through the building), he can turn into a flying, laser blasting tank with no need to eat or breathe or sleep, and no way for the Force users to affect his mind.
