Despite McClane's durability. Ip Man has superhuman strength(when he feels like it) and is far too fast for John to really hit. Also he knows plenty of joint locks, throws, and such that would bypass that durability. Doesn't matter how tough you arm when your bone gets snapped out of your arm.
