Heeeere's Negan!

For those unaware:

"Each of the first 12 issues will include a four-page "Walking Dead" story by the series creative team of writer Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard, involving the origins of notorious antagonist Negan and totaling 48 pages of story -- equivalent to slightly more than two typical single issue comics."

Thanks.

Much appreciated. You're the best, Galan 👆

Here's Negan! (Chapter 2):

So Negan f*cking multiple women isn't exactly a new concept for him. 😂

😂

Awesome. Keep 'em coming. Next chapt in 2 weeks?

"IMAGE+" is a monthly title, so you can expect Chapter 3 sometime around the end of next month.

Because the release dates for the issues of "IMAGE+" seem like they are impossible very hard to find through random searches, I asked the customer service folks at Image Comics if they could send me that information directly. This was their response:

Hi,

The issues always release on the last Wednesday of each month, so you should see them 2-3 business days from those dates. June will release the 29th, July the 27th, etc.

Thanks,
Christina
The Image Direct Team

With that in mind, these *should* be the official release dates for the remaining chapters of the "Here's Negan!" backstory:

*Chapter 01: 04/27/16
*Chapter 02: 05/25/16
*Chapter 03: 06/29/16
*Chapter 04: 07/27/16
*Chapter 05: 08/31/16
*Chapter 06: 09/28/16
*Chapter 07: 10/26/16
*Chapter 08: 11/30/16
*Chapter 09: 12/28/16
*Chapter 10: 01/25/17
*Chapter 11: 02/22/17
*Chapter 12: 03/29/17

Here's Negan! (Chapter 3):

That was actually a pretty touching scene, but now we get to see Negan go into survival mode... I do wonder what'll happen to his sickly wife, though.

Sidenote: I wonder if this is why Negan is turned-on by Alpha's bald head..? mmm

These pages are from TWD #156. Thought I should post them here, because they are very relevant to what we are currently seeing in Negan's backstory:

Evidently Negan losing his wife(as we are now seeing in the backstory) is what transformed him into the man cold-blooded badass he is today... Pretty cool that Kirkman tied an essential plot-point from the backstory into the main series. 👆

The more the story goes on the more I find myself liking Negan. He may be the so called "villain" but I don't think he really is that.

Also hopefully in the next issue we of Here's Negan we might see him in his first encounters with Walkers. Imagine what he would say when he sees one for the first time. Bet that'll be funny.

I'm betting his wife's name is Lucille, and he named his trademark weapon after her(remember, the backstory began with Negan wrapping barbed wire around the bat--essentially creating Lucille.)

Maybe the bat was a present from her? Maybe he used it to kill her after she turned? Dunno. Either way, the bat enabled Negan to survive... To prosper... To lead. Hell, he loved that thing as though it were a person. It clearly had some sort of sentimental/emotional value to him, and that's probably why. In some strange/twisted way, it reminded him of his beloved wife.

I doubt 'Lucille' was just some name he randomly pulled from his ass.

Yeah I think this will turn out to be the case.

This month long wait is a killer.

Lol, for sure.

Don't worry, though. I'll definitely keep this thread updated until the end. 👆

Thanks, Galan. Chapt. #3 was pretty great.

Here's Negan! (Chapter 4):

*So his wife's name WAS Lucille. Called that shit. 👆

Thanks Galan, enjoyed that. I guess he'll end up killing Lucille with the bat or something. You can definitely see why he is what he is.

Here's Negan! (Chapter 5):

*Another touching scene. Negan clearly loved Lucille a lot.
*Negan's initial encounter with the dead is eerily similar to Rick's. What with shit hitting the fan at a hospital and whatnot.

Good stuff Galan. Thanks.

Thank you, Galan.

Here's Negan! (Chapter 6):

Kid: "Oh, God! Oh, God!"
Negan: "Be more practical, kid. Call for someone who can help."

Loved that. 😂

And RIP Lucille. Negan handled her death in a very... Negan way. 👆
