Brexit, should Britain leave the EU?

You still think Brexit was a good idea, Surt?

Another broken promise, it's getting a little sad at this point.

Its almost like collective amnesia in that they all forgot that fishing quotas were never put in place to allow various countries fair access to fish stocks but to actually stop fleets fishing certain species into extinction. They were never going to be allowed increased quotas and get back to what they view as their heyday with or without Brexit.

I can't say, but this whole this just fascinates me. The more one thinks about it, the more one wonders how they ever thought this was an issue they could allow people to decide with a mere "yes" or "no" vote. Whether it is good or bad, the complexities wrapped up in Brexit are astounding.

The referendum was purely to quell the eurosceptic wing of the Tory party. David Cameron, being pro-EU, thought that if he let it happen and the vote was to remain that it would silence his opponents within his own party. His hubris led him to believe he couldn't lose.

Now the entire country has to deal with the consequences of his arrogance and he had the temerity to resign and let someone else have to clean up his mess.

Party politics yeah, though it also had to do with UKIP and assuaging growing public resentment against immigrants and what not.

I just love they want another vote. A do-over. But then if the remain side won and the leavers wanted ANOTHER do over, what then? Does it just go endlessly on? Since it wouldn't be fair to let one side challenge and ask for another vote, but not for the other.

Farage and other pro Brexit campaigners have stated since the vote that if they had lost by the same %s that they would have continued to push for leaving the EU. Same with the Scottish independence referendum. Leaving the EU now fundamentally changes a lot in Scottish politics as many people who voted to remain in the UK did so on the basis of them receiving EU subsidies (farmers, landowners etc) and now their only hope of staying in the EU is via an independent Scotland which voted hugely to remain in the EU but is having to leave due to the UK Parliament executing the will of the UK as a whole even when 2 of its 4 member countries voted to remain.

And where does the EU get that Subsidies Money? They get it from TAKING IT from Taxpayers. Only then to dole it out to those THEY deem worthy. Which is mainly themselves. Yeah. The EU is GREAT!

I'm not even talking about people like Farage, but the normal folk who want a do over.

If they got their do over, and won..and then the leavers wanted another do over, what do you feel would happen? Would it be welcomed with open arms and a "Well shucks, we got our do over so you get yours" ?

The date has apparently been set, divorce proceedings begin March 29th.

So... Brexit officialy starts. The EU is on a road to drastic changes.

The British government officially launched the process of leaving the European Union (EU) on Wednesday, pitting itself against the EU, several parts of the UK, and the two-year time limit of the negotiation.

This I something that will be looked back at as "wtf were they thinking?"

Maybe, maybe not.

The old man who lived through it will say to the children of the future: "They brought cries of nationalism and made promises they knew they couldn't keep while targeting a group as the enemy to us all and like sheep we went along."

Not sure if it's possible, but I'd like to see Scotland break away from the UK, go independent and join the EU. No reason they should be made to suffer as well. Wales too, if they voted to stay.

Pshhh they aren't fake news. Just highly dishonest people with zero journalistic integrity willing to mislead the public in order to get ratings or push an agenda.

Respect them.
