I was interested if this hole "philosophy advancement" and Eternal Empire's mental superior resulting in superior results in everything meant they also evolved beyond their predecessors like Malgus and Revan, and being direct result of evolution from them, guys like Arcann or Vaylin should hold superiority just because of being the "later versions" of teachings that came before (like RotJ Vader would defeat RotS Anakin because of absolutely perfect knowledge of everything his younger self would do, you get it).

However, Vaylin's loss to Senya doesn't proves that she sucks with a Lightsaber. Senya could be honed to perfection in melee-oriented combat techniques as the leader of Knights of Zakuul back in her day. Senya was also Vaylin's mother and it is hard to kill your own parent.
