One of the greatest things about BVS is that Supes first and initial reaction was to immediately launch dd into space. Without that luxury, it comes down to slugs. The blows Supes was taking from his long fight against multiple Kryptonians make the ones Hulk took from Veronica look a little like love taps. Building drops aside, hulk has had two Ko's, the great fall from the hellicarrier and the punking by veronica. The force generated by those id say Supes could replicate.

Oil rig took place before supes 'awakening' upon meeting his holo-dad, he hadnt even learnt to fly. The movie made it seem that finally getting the answers and closure he needed lifted some mental blocks allowing him to go full supes. I mean we see him fall through a mountain after that without a ko or evident harm. Id say if zods mob invaded BEFORE supes met his dad they would have dominated him. All this tells me he was holding back subconsciously until that point, including the oil rig scene.
