Well wait no, if what you just said was true than we'd never have cases like Duke Lacrosse or Rolling Stone.

We have put people in jail without any actual evidence merely because the "victim" claimed they did something wrong.

I just find it strange because getting raped can destroy your life just as much as getting falsely accused of rape can. But people don't call for the heads of people who lie about it, even when this person gets a small punishment or no punishment at all.

In this country we sometimes destroy a persons life for the silliest of reasons. Look at the dentist who shot the lion. Or hell look at this situation: this rapist had a lifelong female friend who appeared as a character witness for him. Guess what happened to her? If you answered "it f*cked her career up" then ding ding ding. She is in a band that essentially can't get any gigs now because she was a character witness for this dude.

Or people will try to ruin your life even if you share the same name as someone. Go look up the story of the middle aged black man who unfortunately is named "Casey Anthony".
