The Clone Wars Timeline is difficult to decipher, given the events aren't in chronological order up to that point.Still, Shaak.
As far as feats go, Ventress has her fight with Kenobi on Teth, her duel with Kenobi and Skywalker on Christophsis, her duel with K'Kruhk and Windu, Fisto and Kenobi (Cestus Deception), and OCW. Prolly more, too, but those are the mains, I believe.

Her OCW feats aren't that great, TBH. While the rest of them are impressive, I still don't see her winning. It should be a decent-ish fight, but the fact remains that (as Luminara points out) Ventress is fighting a superior user of her own form, who almost certainly has the force edge too.
While all we have for a RotS Ti is hype, she should still be superior to a Ventress who stalemated Luminara in the force, and failed to overcome her through conventional methods despite an injury. Further still, the tag team of Luminara and Ahsoka were pushing her back, despite the fact Luminara was forced on the offensive as a Soresu wielder, I have little doubt Shaak Ti would beat that duo with far greater ease mmm

Asajj Ventress is too inconsistent to really gauge by "time". Her best showings are in the earlier materials, many of which took place around the same time as CoD. However, since the 2010 reboot, she didn't get that strong until later. So, *shrug*.
I was thinking today though, does Luminara actually suck major ass at fighting? Like, she lost in ~45 seconds to a majorly pre-prime Ventress. I know you hold Luminara in relatively high regard (IIRC), Sas, so I was wondering what your thoughts on her fight against Ventress is and her overall level compared to other PT combatants.
She was ambushed though.
This is a Ventress who's taught engaging Jedi head on is asking for disaster, unless caught out she's always got her own back-up plans or methods of escape. She lured Luminara to that engine room for a reason. Her initial blow ended up blinding her in one eye, she lured Luminara onto the edge and then used the environment against her. There's none of TCW's usual hints that Ventress thought of that advantage mid fight, so one could extrapolate that she had it planned from the beginning mmm
Originally posted by SelenialI've thought about that fight for a ridiculous amount of time for years, honestly, and my opinion of it always changes. I think the whole point of the episode was to really stress how powerful and skilled Ventress was, and that the only way she could have been matched or defeated is through both Luminara and Ahsoka working together, because alone they were outmatched. But yeah, as for the fight, I agree, Luminara was in Ventress' playhouse and Ventress had the fight controlled. Though, in regards to Luminara's injury she sustained in the beginning, it seemed to have healed halfway through the fight (and regardless, clouded vision in one eye probably shouldn't be too much for a Jedi Master). Regarding Ventress kicking Luminara off the platform, I've always interpreted that as Ventress' intuition kicking in. Luminara lunged overhead to slash at Ventress (IMO, because Ventress only had one lightsaber activated and possibly wouldn't have been able to defend Lumi's strike as effectively -- at least, maybe that's what Luminara's thought process was) and Ventress realized Luminara's positioning and took the opportune moment to lunge at her.

But yeah, I dunno. I love that fight because it really makes you think about Ventress'/Lumi's strategies, and how close they really are to each other.

And the reason she lured Luminara wasn't for the reason of getting Gunray relatively unguarded so Captain Argyus could do his work?
Given the fact it's closer to where he was being held than many other locations on the cruiser? I doubt it.
Even if she was luring Luminara away for that reason, you're a fool if you think Ventress didn't know where the fight would be and how she'd use the location to her advantage.
