Meh, I'm willing to argue either way.

What ESB Luke can do:
- surprise Vader when he is toying with him,
- TK stones,
- pilot a starfighter like a top tier master.

What ESB Luke can't do:
- force Dooku into defensive,
- demonstrate clearly greater dueling capacity than AotC Kenobi,
- beat Ventress in the next few months,
- become capable of TK'ing dreadnaughts a few months later.

Bart ur so right. It's clears ESB Luke takes that after your analysis. 🙂

He did, actually, and it was incredibly peculiar. The monologue itself is very self-contradictory.

padawan Anakin destroys padawan Luke, Luke got dusted by a Vader who was holding back severely while Anakin brought it to Dooku and tired him out even though he got his arm lopped off...

the difference between the two was that Dooku chopped Anis arm through superior skill; Vader chopped Lukes hand merely by starting to get serious after Luke nicked his armour.

There's no reason to think Vader was exerting himself fully. He seems pretty casual about it.
